The new congressional session begins January 3, two-and-a-half weeks before Donald Trump is inaugurated, and LaMalfa says there are some pieces of legislation that they probably will get through to set up Trump’s agenda. LaMalfa was in Washington last week, but is back home now for Thanksgiving recess. They still have a lame duck session in December, where the most pressing issue will be to fund the government past the end of the year.
