Nevada County’s representative in Congress is responding to critics of the plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, but is also noncommittal about whether or not he supports the current bill. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says if the current G-O-P plan passes, 20 million people could lose health coverage. Doug LaMalfa calls that short-sided, and says it doesn’t account for things like economic growth and a more competitive insurance market…
Some Republicans say the plan doesn’t go far enough, and have dubbed it “Obamacare Light”, which LaMalfa says is a misnomer because there will be more healthcare choices and no mandate for coverage. As for the bill in its current form, LaMalfa says he’s still studying it…
LaMalfa will be in Nevada County this weekend. He’ll be holding a town hall meeting Saturday at the fairgrounds from noon to 1:30pm.
