LaMalfa Touts More Nevada County Projects

Nevada County’s Congressman, Doug LaMalfa, has announced his final list of community projects in his district for consideration for federal priority spending. Stopping by the KNCO studio, he says he’s requesting another one-point-75 million dollars for the Ponderosa West fuels reduction project…

The project has resumed on over 600 acres of private and public lands to protect around three-thousand residents. LaMalfa is also requesting one-point-zero-five-million dollars to install a 330-thousand gallon water storage tank, pipeline, and five hydrants in North San Juan. There’s currently no water for emergency fire suppression. LaMalfa says the House has altered funding procedures for allowing representatives to nominate specific projects in their districts…

The projects must meet stringent criteria that includes having significant state or local matching funds and be under 15-million dollars in requested funds. Last week, he also asked for funding to keep a Highway 49 widening project in the South County in the congressional pipeline.
