It will be easier to enjoy the outdoors on federal lands, if Nevada County’s congressman gets his way. Doug LaMalfa spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives, advocating for his bill, called House Resolution 289…
The bill is also known as the GO Act, for guides and outfitters. LaMalfa says the bill will ease the permit process, which would not only allow easier access for people, but also contribute to the economy.
LaMalfa says recreation on federal lands creates 900-billion dollars for the Gross Domestic Product, and supports seven-point-six million jobs. The bill, which LaMalfa says has bi-partisan support, passed the House and now moves to the Senate.
