A rather unusual drug arrest, at least for Nevada County. Sheriff’s Sergeant Justin Martin, with the Narcotics Task Force, says it occurred during a traffic stop on Highway 49 near Brunswick Road. He says officers seized over a pound and a half of cocaine, with a street value estimated at 70 to 80-thousand dollars…
Martin says over 20 pounds of marijuana cola and shake were also seized. He says 36-year-old Eduardo Alves, from Oakland, was taken into custody…
Alves is facing two felonies for allegedly transporting and selling the cocaine. But Martin says, thanks to the passage of Proposition 64, the marijuana charge is now considered a misdemeanor.
