Large Drug Bust on Kentucky Flat Road

A large amount of people and drugs busted at a Kentucky Flat Road property Wednesday afternoon. According to Sheriff Keith Royal, members of the Nevada County Narcotics Task Force attempted to arrest a woman that had an active warrant for marijuana cultivation. The women had listed a Kentucky Flat Road address as her residence. However, deputies found much more than the woman at the site.

Based on what they saw, the officers secured a search warrant and continued the investigation.

They also located 17,000 dollars in US currency.
officers determined the sole occupant of the property was a Mathew Wilkes who was apparently renting the property.


Other individuals were also identified as being part of the operation or just living there.
Seven arrests were made including Mr. Wilkes.

All seven were booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on a number of drug related charges including marijuana cultivation, processing, and conspiracy as well as charges related to the heroin and poppies.
