A large interstate marijuana business in Western Nevada County was busted Wednesday. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal tells KNCO that a warrant was served on a Big Springs Rd address for suspected commercial marijuana cultivation. Upon arrival members of Narcotics Task Force and Major Crimes Unit found no one on site but did find a large amount of apparent illegal activity.
Deputies also discovered alleged interstate business activity.
Sheriff Royal says according to Proposition 215 the garden is in itself not illegal, but the activity associated with it is.
Other evidence at the scene indicated Mr. Perry was also conducting online business with people in the San Diego area.
The sheriff says that here has been an increase in honey oil operations connected to medical marijuana grows within Nevada County.
Apparently Perry had been using e-cigarette supplies to package and transport the honey oil.
Kyle Perry was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for manufacturing a controlled substance and marijuana cultivation. An ongoing investigation includes the Drug Enforcement Agency because of the implications of interstate drug activity.
