Last Chance to Claim 2009 Tax Refunds

Refunds may be waiting for thousands of California taxpayers who did not file a federal income tax return for 2009. However, to collect the money, IRS Spokesperson Richard Panick says, a return for 2009 must be filed with the IRS no later than Monday, April 15, 2013.

Many people are qualify for at least the 500 dollar minimum Earned Income Tax Credit. If you are not sure if you if you are eligible for a 2009 tax return Panick says the easiest thing for people is to call the IRS 800 number.

The IRS phone number is -800-829-1040. You will need to have a tax payer ID or Social Security number to assist with verification.
Questions about ammending an existing 2009 tax return can also be answered using that number.
