Last Phase Of NID Water Improvement Project

A 3-year project to connect NID treated water systems serving Alta Sierra and Lake of the Pines is moving into its final phase. The Board of Directors has awarded a 1-point-7 million dollar contract for the installation of nearly 2 miles of water main lines through the Lodestar and Golden Oaks subdivisions. The new pipeline is the third and final link between a new line to the north installed last year, and a new line to the south, installed in 2014. The three sections total nearly 6 miles and Scherzinger says it’ll also be a huge boost for firefighting….

Work is expected to begin to begin this fall and continue through the winter. The better quality water should be available to new customers next spring or early summer.
