County Issues Election Update

The Nevada County Elections Office has updated the latest returns, but officials say the numbers are not final yet. One of the two closest races is for the Grass Valley City Council where two seats are up for grabs. The update shows Vice Mayor Jason Foyer leading with 1424 votes, Nevada County Supervisor Terry Lamphier with 1318 votes, and Jerri Glover in third place with 1211 votes. Glover has not picked up much ground since election night, while Foyer was only leading Lamphier by five votes previously. The other close race is for the second seat on the Nevada County Board of Education-Trustee Area One–Bob Altieri leads Marianne Slade-Troutman by just over 500 votes (10747 to 10212). Larry Meek is the top vote getter with over 12-thousand votes.  Elections officials say there are about 28-hundred more ballots to be counted, with the next update coming Friday November 21.
