Law Enforcement Steps Up to I-80 Challenge

An ambitious effort is being taken up by law enforcement across the United States. CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says the idea of a week period of no fatalities on Interstate 80 was started by the Ohio State Police. Law Enforcement agencies the length of the cross country highway quickly joined in the effort to keep people alive.

The number of fatal accidents on Interstate 80 increases in the summer months because of the increase in summer travel. The last  week of July law enforcement efforts will focus on speeding and distracted drivers.
