Repeal of the three strikes law is opposed by the California State Sheriff.  Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal is the president of the State Sheriff Association and says the repeal of the law by Proposition 36, would put citizens in danger. Lowering the prison population by shortening their sentences would greatly impact the public  law enforcement is sworn to serve.
