Law Enforcement Untwists Tale of Domestic Disturbance

A domestic situation had both involved parties giving bizarre descriptions of the event to law enforcement. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a domestic violence incident was reported on New Town Road just after midnight Tuesday morning. When Deputies arrived, 42 year-old Rebecca McCoy was found with blood on her face. She offered a explanation that she punched herself in the face several times causing the bleeding. The male victim was found inside the residence with cuts and scratches on his body. He gave a explanation of the injures as he was cut running through the brush.

Royal says when deputies re-interviewed McCoy, they got most of the story, including that the blood on her face turned out to be the victim’s. McCoy was taken into custody for suspicion of domestic violence and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional facility.
