A group of 25 community leaders in a variety of fields began an eight month journey through the various aspects of Nevada County Business, Industry, and Government Systems. The Nevada County Community Leadership Institute kicked off with a two day retreat at Sierra College. Institute Facilitator Lori Burkart Frank says the Institute provides an opportunity for participants to get to know each other as well as different aspects of the County.
A wide variety of participant experiences helps enrich the the learning that takes place.
Participants learn about each other and how they can work better together to take advantage of each other strengths.
The focus of the Nevada County Community Leadership Institute is on current issues within the county.
The first session of the institute is a two day retreat where participants spend a day learning about each other and team building followed by day of focus on local media.
After this weekend participants will experience a variety of topics.
