Last nights candidate forums hosted by the League of Women Voters began with a one hour session with the two candidates running for district attorney . Incumbent Cliff Newell and challenger David Alkire took questions from the audience and a media panel made up of The Union, KVMR, YubaNet, and KNCO. Candidates were asked ” What effects realignment has on the District Attorney’s office, and how would you meet those challenges. ”

The second half of last night’s forum was with the two candidates running for Superintendent of schools, Incumbent Hollie Hermanson and challenger Paul Haas. who answered questions about Common Core, the nation’s new education standards and tests that was adopted in Calfiornia in 2010.
