League of Women Voters-Election News and Dates

The League of Women Voters of Western Nevada County (LWVWNC) announce the following dates of importance in relation to the California Primary Election:

May 9, 2016 Early voting begins in two locations

– Nevada County Elections Office, 950 Maidu Avenue, Suite 210

– Truckee Town Hall, 10183 Truckee Airport Road

May 23, 2016 Last day to register to vote in the June Primary Election

June 7, 2016 Election Day—polls will be open from 7am until 8pm

The LWVWNC has committed to inspiring the largest voter turnout per capita in the state of California in the 2016 election cycle.

League members are responding to all requests to assist in Voter Registration and are currently scheduled to be in the following locations to assist voters in confirming registration, to respond to voter questions and provide registration materials.

March 19, 2016 9am – 4pm

Voter Registration, Truckee Chamber of Commerce, 10065 Donner Pass Road, staff from Nevada County Elections office will be on hand.

*Tina Vernon, Nevada County Treasurer-Tax Collector will also be on hand from 9am until 12noon to answer questions about property tax, TOT and the County Treasury

March 21, 2016 10am – 5pm

Voter Registration– Natural Selection, 589 East Main Street, Grass Valley

March 21, 2016 5:30pm – 8pm

Voter Registration– SYRCL State of the Yuba Presentation, Peace Lutheran Church, 828 West Main Street, Grass Valley

March 23, 2016 5pm – 9pm

Voter Registration– Matteo’s Public, 300 Commercial Street, Nevada City; In addition, Matteo’s will donate 15% of all sales to LWVWNC

April 2, 2016 9am – 4pm

Voter Registration, Truckee Chamber of Commerce, 10065 Donner Pass Road, staff from Nevada County Elections office will be on hand.

Please contact the League if you would like a Voter Registration table at your upcoming event. Additional dates, times and locations to register will be announced weekly.
