Restaurant owners in Nevada City are hoping the third time is the charm rather than three strikes and you’re out. Lefty’s Grill has flooded three times in less than two weeks, but they are still hoping to re-open soon. Chris Duncan and John Cammack are co-owners of the restauarant. Duncan says they got about eight inches of water the first time around, and the fire department had to evacuate about two dozen people…
Through Facebook, they put out a call for help to get some pumps donated, and also formed a ‘Go Fund Me’ page…
They tried to open again, and after putting in brand new tile flooring, they got six more inches of water. A benefit spaghetti feed is happening on Friday to raise more money for the re-opening. It’s from 5 to 8pm at the Miners Foundry, with a silect auction, and raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Despite more rain ahead this week, Lefty’s is looking to be back in business around March 1.
