League of Women Voters Candidates Forum for Congress Dist.1

The next League of Women Voters candidates forum is scheduled for Thursday night, May 5th and will feature candidates running for California’s 1st Congressional district. The incumbent, Doug LaMalfa has declined an invitation to participate according to the League of women voters as did two of the candidates running for LaMalfa’s seat, Republican,Gregory Cheadle and Democrat, David Peterson.

Candidates who have said they will be there include Democrat,Jim Reed, Republicans,Joe Montes,and Gary Allen Oxley, and Jeff Gerlach who is an Independent candidate. The Forum is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. tomorrow evening  at the Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Ave.  Nevada City.

The candidates will field questions from members of the local media, as well as members of the audience. League of Women Voters member, Dottie Schmidt will moderate the discussion.
