It’s usually just offered for the more snowed-in residents in Truckee. But with the Stay at Home Order firmly in place, the Nevada County Community Library has expanded the Winter Reading Challenge to all branches online. Branch Manager Rachel Tucker says it starts for adults on Tuesday. They’re asked to log in on the website or through the curbside pickup program. And you get prizes just for participating…
Starting prizes can be picked up during normal curbside pickup hours. To complete the Challenger, which lasts through January 31st, adults are asked to read a total of 200 minutes. Meanwhile, kids and teens start next Monday, when Christmas vacation also gets underway…
Kids and teens are asked to read 10 minutes a day or about an hour a week. And for those who want an additional challenge, Tucker says some other suggested online activities will be available, but are not required, for the finisher prize.
