Lincoln 44, Nevada Union 24

On what was the sixth anniversary of the last time they won a league game, and with the knowledge that a victory would make them playoff eligible, the Nevada Union Miners struggled against Lincoln, and fell to the Fighting Zebras 44-24 at Hooper Stadium. The Miners (3-6, 0-4 Foothill Valley League) never led–trailing 14-0 after the first quarter, and 35-8 at halftime. The nine touchdowns combined by the two teams were scored by nine different players. Dawson Fay (49 yard run), Parker Heilaman (1 yard run), and Isreal Gonzalez (8 yard run) had the TDs for the Miners. Nevada Union closes out the regular season at home against Rio Linda next week, and despite being in last place, still has a chance for their first post-season berth since 2012.
