Small businesses in Nevada County are begining to receive funding from government programs and are beginning to re-open or expand services. The popular Pine Street Burgers in Grass Valley is one of those businesses. Manager Nicole Ray-Rivera says Pine Street closed its doors March 23rd becasue of safety concerns and dwindling business.
Nicole says Pine Street was able to open their doors again last Wednesday, April 29, thanks in part to to the Paycheck Protection Program which allowed the burger place to bring all its employees back.
Pine Street Burgers is running two shifts a day with about twelve or thirteen employees per shift.
Nicole says that the loans help, but it’s the customers that are making it happen.
