A creek in Nevada City with a history of flooding, especially during stormy winters, is finally set for a restoration project. Kyle Leach, with the Sierra Streams Institute, says a state grant from the Department of Water Resources will help reduce the flooding of Little Deer Creek as it goes through Pioneer Park…
Leach says it’ll be a 2-phase project, with the first phase scheduled to begin in September that will focus on the flooding threat…
Other improvements include a new trail and drainage improvements. Leach says it’s hoped both phases can be completed by the fall of next year.
