Local AT&T workers on strike

A two-day job action by members of the Communication Workers of America had members walking on Colfax Avenue at the AT&T building in Grass Valley yesterday.

Local union president Mike Davis says the company has walked away from the bargaining table and this is an effort to bring them back to the table.  Davis says they have been without a contract since April and they want the company to come back to the table and talk.

In a prepared statement, AT&T has said the walkout is unfortunate because the company and unions from other parts of the country have already reached a deal.  The local union represents about two hundred members.  Davis says area customers could see delays in phone installation or repairs during the walk out.
