Local Churches at Heart of Emergency Coalition

Nevada county is known as the Heart of the Gold Country and truly does have a heart when it comes to helping people in need.
Marilyn Hopkins is on the board of the Nevada County Emergency Coalition, which she says has its roots in the local churches.

The Emergency Assistance Coalition is funded by donations from area churches and a Cal Works grant.  It provides emergency housing, food and transportation to community members in need.  Dial 211 provides the phone requests coverage.
