Last week Grass Valley Interim Fire Chief Mark Buttron talked to KNCO about local fire fighters that were assigned to strike teams being sent over to battle the King Fire in El Dorado and Placer Counties. However, firefighters are not the only local resources supporting the suppression efforts. Retired Fire Chief David Ray says he was over there yesterday helping Robinson Enterprises relocate and position heavy equipment used to clear a fire line. Specifically a feller-buncher was being put in place.

Even though it is raining today- and many think it will benefit the fire fight- Ray points out it also adds complications.

The King Fire continues to burn and has burned over 95,000 acres and 43 percent contained.
