A local city council member is trying to convince the state legislature to extend the deadline for cities and counties to adopt medical marijuana regulations. Grass Valley City Councilwoman Jan Arbuckle testified in front of a senate committee last week…
Arbuckle says Grass Valley is one of only a handful of municipalities in the state to ban *all* marijuna grows. Arbuckle told the committee why the city council made that decision…
Arbuckle says her testimony only lasted three minutes. The bill, A-B 21,which would require local governments to have their own medical marijuana regulations in place by March 1 or be subject to state laws, passed out of the Governance Committee and was sent to the Health Committee, where it is scheduled to be heard on Wednesday.

How refreshing that Grass Valley is actively pursuing alernatives made possible by the new State laws to tax & regulate medical cannabis. Nevada City is poised to raise sales taxes on everyone when they could allow a cannabis dispensary and reap the tax benefits from just the people using MMJ. The County could also learn something from GV.
