Local Firefighters 4th Annual Kid’s Fire Camp

It’s for kids 11 to 14 years of age who want to discover what a firefighters life is like. The Fourth Annual Fire Camp for kids will be starting in June and is presented by the Local 3800 International Association of Firefighters. Lt. Nathan Menth says the camp runs for 5 days.

Fire Camp will reinforce team work and problem solving all while having the kids perform the daily jobs of firefighters.

He says girls as well as boys attend the camp.

The camp has 25 spots for first-time campers and 5 spots for returnees who serve as team leaders and mentors. The cost of the camp is $150 dollars per camper. the application deadline is Friday May 20th. Applications are available on line at Nevada County Consolidated Fire’s website  www.nccfire.com or at the fire station on McCourtney Rd. across from the Fairgrounds.
