Local Heroes’ Memorial Bridge Tour Scheduled

In Nevada County there are 15 bridges officially named and marked with a plaque in honor of 17 local Airmen, Marines and Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our American freedoms and liberties.

On May 27, 2013 the Friends of Nevada County Military will be hosting a walking tour and a bus tour of memorial bridges dedicated to fallen soldiers from Nevada County.

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors thanks the Volunteers from “Friends” and local chapters of the Viet Nam Veterans of America, Marine Corps League, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Blue Star Mothers of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Welcome Home Vets, and other organizations for leading the tours. Supervisor Ed Scofield commented on how important the memorials on the bridges are.

The Nevada County Supervisors at their May 14th meeting presented a Certificate of Recognition for the Local heroes’ Memorial Bridge Tour Scheduled for May 27,2013.
