Local Official Elected to State Level Position

A local government official has been elected to a state organization’s leadership team. Grass Valley City Councilwoman, Jan Arbuckle was recently elected to the League of California Cities Board of Directors. Arbuckle shared her good news with KNCO’s Paul Haas following the recent City Council Meeting.

Arbuckle completed a rigorous application process and was selected from 23 applicants across the state.
The League of California Cities is a statewide association founded in 1898 to advocate on behalf of California’s cities at the state and federal levels and provide education, training and best practices for city officials.

Grass Valley is part of the Sacramento Division of the League which is made up of 58 incorporated cities from Yreka in the North and to Galt in the South. There are 482 member cities state wide.

Jan Arbuckle will serve on the Board from September 2014 through September 2016.
In 2013 Council Member Arbuckle was appointed to finish out the term a member who had resigned. Previously Arbuckle served as President of the Sacramento Valley Division as well as a member of multiple committees.
