A 23 year-old Nevada City man is doing something very few people in the world do, and only few Americans have ever done-drive in a Formula One auto race. Alexander Rossi has signed a contract with Manor Marussia F-1, and will be driving in the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend. Peter Rossi is Alexander’s father and manager, and just arrived in Singapore…
Alexander is the first American since 2007 to drive in Formula One, and just the fourth in about 40 years…
The younger Rossi is currently in second place in a junior circuit called the G-P-2 series, and will continuing racing there, but dad says Alexander’s contract will have him driving in five of the final seven Formula One races this season…
If you want to check out Rossi in action, set your DVRs or stay up late. Qualifying will be shown late Saturday night, and the race at 4:30am Sunday on the NBC Sports Network.
