As expected Governor Gavin Newsom presented steps for the state, counties, and cities to move into the second phase of re-opening businesses that have closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Locally, Grass Valley Mayor, Lisa Swarthout is pleased and says merchants are preparing to open as soon as Friday.
She says many restaurants had been operating curbside pickup according to Phase One guidelines and a few others will follow suit. The mayor also thinks more businesses could be opening very soon.
As chair of the Economic Resource Council, Swarthout says the ERC will serve mostly as a referral agency as Phase Two moves forward.
Swarthout says more information on the seventeen requirements needed for re-opening a restaurant will be shared next week, so some may hold off opening a few more days.
