Local Rotary Clubs Donate $4000 to Support Seniors

Two local Rotary Clubs have combined forces to make a significant donation to help feed local senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. Grass Valley South Rotary Acting President, Carol Scofield, says that they and the Penn Valley Rotary, were able to leverage a matching grant program from the local Rotary District 5190. The funds are going to Gold Country Community Services.

The two clubs combined to donate 2000 dollars, so District 5190 matched that for a total of 4000 dollars. The money will go to support the Meals on Wheels program.

Currently there is a 98 person waitlist above the regular clients receiving meals prior t the stay-at-home order.
