Local Schools Celebrate Art Month

March is Youth Art Month and students in schools throughout Nevada County have been working on pieces of art which are now on displayfor public view.  Superintendent of Schools Holly Hermanson says the artwork is mounted on the walls at the Eric Rood Government Center.

Community Partnerships have also been formed with Music In the Mountains, In concert Sierra and the Center for the Arts to promote art in Schools.  Hermanson says art is also heavily embedded in the Common Core State Standards.

The student art will be on display at the Rood Center at least through the Month of April and the public is encouraged to come out and see it.
