Local Teen Dies in Rollover Accident

A Grass Valley High School student died Wednesday when a Jeep he was riding in overturned in Yuba County. 18 year old Tyler Balke was with 4 other passengers in a 2001 Jeep that was being driven by 19 year old Tye Casto of Penn Valley.   The CHP says Balke was sitting on the right rear passenger window ledge partly outside the jeep as Casto was driving  under the Parks Bar Bridge on the north shoulder of Timbuctoo road.  When the driver, made a a hard left turn to go around a concrete support pillar, the Jeep rolled over on top of Balke.  Balke died of internal injuries at the scene.

The other passengers in the Jeep Jushua Danckert, 19, Trevor Martin 18, both of Grass Valley,  and 22 year old Zachary Burch of Marysville as well as the driver Tye Casto were not injured. The CHP says alcohol was not a factor in the cause of the collision.  However, alcohol is being further investigated with the passengers.
