Local Theater Groups Get Multiple ELLY Nominations

Four Nevada County Theater Groups and one local High School group did quite well when it came to earning Sacramento Area Theater Alliance ELLY Awards for theatrical productions. The Community Asian Theater of the Sierras (CATS) earned nominations in all categories for the production of Journey to the West. President and Artistic Director of CATS Lisa Moon says along with the nomination for Best Overall Production of a Comedy, she is thrilled with the 10 individual nominations.

Peter Mason of Sierra Stages is pleased with the eight nominations for The Music Man and five for Midsummer’s Night Dream.

Sue LeGate from Legacy Productions picked up four nominations for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged.

Quest TheaterWorks- formerly Ewing Productions- picked up nominations for the productions of Sealed for Freshness and Alice in Wonderland.

And Bear River High School received a Sound Design Nomination for Nick Huiting for his work for Hello Dolly! in an Education-Musical..
Congratulations to all of the nominees. The ELLY Awards night is September 22 in Sacramento.
