Tom Fitzsimmons is the Program Director for Nevada County Broadcasters, and morning show host at KNCO NewsTalk 830, but his favorite job is being husband to Roxanne and Dad to his daughter's Katie and Kelly, and step dad to Tyson and Megan. Tom and Roxanne just became grandparents with the birth of Megan's daughter, Hazel Virginia. Tom also is the voice of High School Football and Basketball play by play. His hobbies include playing and watching all sports and taking long hikes both locally and in the Sierras with his dog, Angel. He also has taken up distance running and just started to get into road cycling.

Love our Fairgrounds!

Nothing makes you know the vacation is over than the first morning back at work.  Of course, doing the morning show here, it is a fun way to start back and seeing the smiling faces of Rita, Deana, and Greg was great.  But, right after the airshift, the work really starts, especially this week with so many events happening.

From candidate forums, to the Union Home and Garden Show, to the Grass Valley Downtown Car Show, we are very busy and I am a little stressed getting both equipment and personnel ready.  Of course, I had to check out our gazebo at the Nevada County Fairgrounds since we are out there this weekend.  Rushed out there and stepped under the pines and it hits you…there are very few places…maybe the Yuba, Lake Tahoe for sure….that gives a feeling of serenity like the fairgrounds.  Makes one feel great to be alive and great to be outside…no matter what is going on.  I felt better just being out there.  Maybe I should become one of the many that walk the grounds for exercise.

Hope to see one and all at the Home and Garden show this weekend.  I will be out there from 10am to 2pm Saturday.
