Lowell Fire Released to Local Cal Fire Unit

The Cal Fire Base Camp at the Nevada County Fairgrounds for crews and equipment battling the Lowell Fire in Nevada and Placer Counties is quickly becoming a ghost town.
This morning at 10 o’clock Cal Fire Incident Command Team 1 turned the remainder of operations on the fire to the local Cal Fire unit according to Cal Fire Captain Mike Mohler.

Captain Mohler says the fire is secure and the local unit will take over operations.

Riight now they are in the end stages of patrol and mop up. But people still need to watch out for firefighter activity.

The date for full containment of the Lowell Fire is still Monday August 10th
