Lucchesi Opens New Tasting Room

When a wine tasting room that represented several wine makers closed in Grass Valley, a long standing Nevada County winemaker took the opportunity to move into the vacant building. Lucchesi Vineyards, whose original downtown tasting room was on the corner by the Del Oro Theater has moved across the street and down the block into the larger tasting room.

That’s Linda Clough wife of co-owner and winemaker Mario Clough, whose original Italian name was Lucchesi. Mario’s family name changed when his widowed mother re-married and Mario was adopted by the Clough’s. the winery is named after his Italian roots.
Lucchesi’s move to the new facility allows them to take advantage of the larger space and changes in laws that allowed the winery to sell by the glass.

Lucchesi is offering appetizers and small plates through partnerships with the Back Porch Deli, Emily’s Catering and the Owl Tavern as well as offering live music Friday and Saturday evenings. The Lucchesi Tasting Room is also available for small gatherings and events.
