Making Sense of Financial Statements

Keeping track of a checking account is problem enough for many people, but what about making sense of an organization’s accounting books? The Center for Non-Profit Leadership of Nevada County is sponsoring an event that can help board members and other non-financial experts make sense of an organization’s accounting system.  “Demystifying Finances” workshop presenter, Judy Nichols, says the workshop is targeted for non-profit board members that don’t necessarily understand the books.

Nichols, a certified public accountant and former chief financial officer for an insurance company, says the workshop covers the basics.
