Nevada County Sheriffs Deputies went to a loud-party call on Ponderosa Way Saturday night, and took an armed man into custody. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says Deputies were searching for party goers, when a pickup truck approached one of the deputies. A person in the back of the pickup jumped out and fled into the brush. The Sheriff says deputies started searching for the person.

 “One of our officers observed a pickup truck approaching him and as the vehicle got close, our officer observed a man in the back of the pick up truck jump out with what appeared to be a rifle.”

A 23 year old Nevada City man was found trying to hide in the brush. Next to him was a 44 caliber rifle. Deputies found several warrants for the man’s arrest and the rifle was taken as evidence.
