A man who allegedly has been taking out his frustrations on his wife is behind bars. Tuesday morning a woman entered the Sheriff’s office with obvious evidence of physical trauma to her face including a swollen lip and scratches. Sheriff Keith Royal says the woman had been assaulted by her husband.

The victim said that she believed the suspect had been using methamphetamine which fueled his aggressive behavior. The victim also said that the most recent attack occurred because her husband thought she and her son had stolen $2000 from him.
Deputies had information that Garcia was riding his motorcycle in the Brunswick Basin area of Grass Valley. Deputies located him and took him into custody.  Jeffrey Garcia was booked on domestic violence and sexual assault charges as well as making terrorizing threats. Bail was set at $275,000
