The weather was beautiful as the streets of Nevada City came to life with the Mardi Gras Parade Sunday afternoon. The crowds filled both sides of the street as the parade made its way down Broad Street. Grand Marshall Jerry Cirino was having a great day with is family.

Law enforcement says the Mardi gras weekend had gone ff without a hitch. But old traditions do die hard, a “no throwing beads rule was in place” but it didn’t seem to keep everybody from throwing the beads. One officer commented on enforcement of the law.*
