Marijuana DUI Bill Rejected in Committee

A bill allowing trace amounts of metabolites associated with marijuana use in a persons blood prove guilt of Driving Under the Influence was rejected by an Assembly committee and is now dead. Americans for Safe Access- Nevada County Chair Patricia Smith says that the AB 2500 was completely unreasonable even after raising the limit.

Smith says the test identifies that you have used marijuana, but the test does not measure current state of the driver.

This is the second time this year that a bill of this nature has been halted. Smith says there a number of bills effecting medicinal marijuana in the legislature at this time that Americans for Safe Access is monitoring.
