Marijuana Initiative Gaining Momentum

Americans for Safe Access-Nevada County is closing in on the required number of signatures needed to get a new marijuana initiative on the ballot for an upcoming election.*

Chair Patricia Smith says the team is vetting signatures and requesting registration corrections. One challenge is validating a Nevada County residence with people that use a PO Box for a mailing address.

Smith says they need about 2500 more signatures and have been collecting approximately 700 signatures per week.
