A principal at a local high school is being honored at the county and regional level. Park Avenue Alternative Learning Site Principal, Marty Mathiesen, has been selected as the Nevada County Administrator of Year and The Region 2 Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators. Region 2 consists of 10 counties: Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter and Yuba. Mathiesen says it was team effort that led to his selection.

Principal Mathiesen says transitioning the school’s students to become productive members of the community and preparing them for the workforce is a primary goal at Park Avenue.
