Grass Valley residents will get a chance to hear the benefits of Measure N at a meeting tonight. Grass Valley Police Officers Association President Alex Gammelgard says the meeting will be held at the Contractors Association office on Crown Point Circle. At the meeting officials will provide information on what the tax increase will be used for and how much money is expected to be generated by the increase. Gammelgard says with the number of tax measures on the November ballot it is important for people to make an informed decision.

In the past several years one third of local police officers have been laid off, along with  a number of fire fighters, and road maintenance has been deferred. The meeting will begin at 6PM and is open to all residents of Grass Valley.
