Medical Issues Can Lead to Loss of License

The CHP says drivers with medical problems could lose their drivers license, if the medical problem caused a accident. Officer Morrison says drivers who loose consciousness while driving and are involved in a accident will be refereed to their doctor and could face the reexamination of their drivers license through DMV.

The CHP says drivers need to check with their physicians to determine if they are in any danger of losing consciousness or medication could cause the driver to be dangerous on the road. The DMV will independently evaluate if the person should retain their license.
