Medical Marijuana Growers Consider Next Step

Now that Nevada County’s interim medical marijuana ordinance is in effect, growers held a meeting Monday night on trying to expand the parameters for the permanent ordinance that may not be in place until early next year. The chair of Americans for Safe Access Nevada County, Patricia Smith, says even though the growing ban has been lifted, it’s still not sufficient enough to address patients’ needs….

The interim ordinance allows no more than 25 plants to be grown on 20 or more acres, 16 on 10 to 20-acre parcels. Residential indoor growing is limited to 12 plants.
