Memorial Day CHP Maximum Enforcement

With the long holiday weekend coming up, a reminder that the Highway Patrol will be out in force.

Officer Dave Martinez with the Auburn CHP Office says last year, there were 40 people killed in collisions statewide on Memorial Day weekend–a 60 percent increase from 2012. Martinez admits that the more officers are out on the roads, the more drivers behave.

The maximum enforcement period begins Friday at 6:01pm, and runs through Monday at 11:59pm.
