The mental competency of an 82-year-old Penn Valley man accused in the shooting death of his live-in caretaker has been questioned. Assistant Nevada County District Attorney Chris Walsh says the defense presented an evaluation on Robert Steuber to the judge. A status report has been scheduled for October 19th. Steuber also uses a wheelchair and also has medical and hearing problems. Authorities say he murdered 67-year-old Sandra Lebarron, in July, during an argument.
